Develop skirts around your brand’s silhouette, fabric and fit requirements, from pattern and sample development to agreed bulk production.
Skirt Design References
Use the gallery to discuss lengths, proportions and construction details. Include the image style number in your enquiry and explain your own design requirements. For trousers, shorts and other related categories, see our women’s bottoms manufacturing page.
Build the Skirt Around Its Silhouette
Send front and back designs, intended length, waist position and fabric references. For fitted, A-line, gathered or flowing designs, the pattern and material need to work together to achieve the intended shape and movement.
Waistband, Fastening and Fit
Specify the waistband shape, facing or elastic treatment, closure position and pocket requirements. Include waist and hip measurements, garment length and fit direction for the sample size. Review sitting and walking movement as part of sample approval.
Lining, Slits and Coverage
State whether the skirt is lined, how much coverage is required and the intended slit or vent position. Check the relationship between outer fabric and lining, including length, movement and how the layers sit at the waist and hem.
Hem and Fabric Behaviour
Discuss the hem finish and any pleating, panels or directional print requirements. Drape, opacity and dimensional stability should be reviewed with the selected fabric during development. For linen collections, explore our linen material and finishing options.
Approve Measurements and Workmanship
Review the sample against your agreed measurements, seam construction, fastening and finishing requirements. Confirm grading rules and tolerances before production, and identify any critical points such as waistband fit, slit reinforcement or hem appearance. See our quality assurance process.
MOQ, Sampling and Production
Our standard minimum is 200 pieces per style in one colour, or 150 pieces per colour for a style ordered in two or more colours. Up to four sizes can be included when the MOQ is met; additional sizes and material or process minimums are discussed separately.
Sample development takes 10–15 working days after all sample details are confirmed. First-order production takes 30–45 working days after order details and styles are confirmed, the deposit is received and fabric is ready. Shipping time is additional. See our ordering FAQs for further details.
