Develop the Whole Outfit, Not Just Each Piece
Begin with how the co-ord should look and feel when worn together. Define the top length, trouser or skirt rise, waist treatment and intended coverage. A set can look balanced on a hanger yet need adjustments when both pieces are fitted together.
Fabric and Silhouette
Share fabric composition, weight, stretch and handfeel if known, or send a physical reference. Consider whether each component needs lining, support or a different construction to achieve the intended drape. For linen collections, see our linen apparel development options.
Print and Detail Coordination
Provide artwork scale, repeat or placement details, and indicate any design lines that should align between pieces. Colour references, trims and finishing should be reviewed across the complete outfit. Fabric behaviour and cutting requirements are assessed during sampling.
Fit Review and Approval
Send measurements for each garment and review a complete sample set. Confirm top and bottom proportions, movement and fit together, then record any changes before approving production specifications. Our pattern and sample development process explains this stage.
What to Include in Your Co-ord Brief
- Front and back designs for every component.
- Fabric, colour, artwork and trim references.
- Sample size, garment measurements and intended fit.
- Quantities per component, style, colour and size.
- Brand labels, target delivery date and destination.
If you plan to sell the pieces separately or allow mixed top and bottom sizes, explain this before quotation. Our matching sets order-planning guide covers size breakdowns and packing details.
