The best womenswear factory for a collection is the one that can reproduce its fabric, fit and construction at the agreed quantity and quality level. A city name, low quotation or large factory photograph is not enough to establish that fit.
Use this guide to compare factories in China against the same brief. It is a practical selection framework, not a ranked supplier list or a set of customer case studies. If your shortlist spans several countries, read our comparison of apparel production in China, India, Vietnam and Bangladesh before assessing individual factories.
Start With the Garment, Then Shortlist the Factory
Separate your collection into construction needs: woven dresses and tops, tailored pieces, denim, or knitted sweaters. Ask each factory which categories it regularly develops and which stages involve specialist facilities.
Location helps organise visits and logistics, but it should not replace a product review. Request relevant samples and an explanation of the proposed production route. Check whether the sample-making facility and bulk facility are the same, and how approved details will be communicated between them.
TUER’s primary womenswear production is in Guangzhou, with additional capacity in Ganzhou. TUER is one of the shareholders in specialist denim and knitwear factories in Foshan and Dongguan respectively. Discuss the proposed arrangement for your order rather than assuming all categories share one line.
Build One Comparison Sheet
- Product fit: garment category, material and comparable construction examples.
- Development: tech-pack support, sample scope, revisions and approval method.
- Order basis: units per style and colour, size allocation and included services.
- Quality: measurement tolerances, workmanship criteria and proposed checks.
- Delivery: material readiness, production start conditions and shipping basis.
Record what is confirmed, what is proposed and what remains unanswered. Avoid scoring a supplier positively simply because its quotation leaves out a costly requirement.
Match the Sample Review to Your Category
Dresses and Woven Tops
Check neckline coverage, armhole comfort, lining, closures and seam finishing. Review a garment on the agreed fit reference as well as flat measurements. A photograph cannot show all movement or internal construction details. Explore dress development and tops.
Tailoring, Denim and Knitwear
For blazers, review lapel shape, interfacing, lining and pressing. For denim, agree the approved wash appearance, dimensions after finishing and hardware. For knitwear, specify yarn reference, stitch structure, gauge where relevant, garment measurements and finishing.
These are review points, not promises that one construction or test method suits every garment. Approve the actual material and sample for the order.
Compare Scope, Evidence and Responsibilities
Ask each shortlisted supplier for a quotation based on the same specification. Confirm whether fabric, trims, labels, packaging, sampling, testing and transport are included or quoted separately. Keep revisions dated so that a cheaper offer is not accidentally compared with an older design.
Review social-responsibility audit reports and material certificates by holder, facility, scope and validity. An audit does not certify garment quality. Material certification does not automatically establish a finished-product claim; clarify the supporting documents for the intended order.
Agree who approves substitutions, who reports progress and what happens when an inspection identifies an issue. Read TUER’s quality assurance overview and ordering FAQs when preparing those questions.
Turn Your Shortlist Into a Development Brief
Send the same compact pack to each suitable factory: drawings or tech pack, fabric reference, colourways, quantities, size range, workmanship priorities, destination and required delivery date. Ask for a list of assumptions before approving a sample.
TUER works with custom womenswear enquiries from fashion brands. Our standard minimum is 200 pieces per style in one colour, or 150 pieces per colour for a style in two or more colours. Up to four sizes are available when MOQ is met; additional sizes require discussion.
Send TUER your collection brief. For a deeper assessment of production responsibility and approval records, read the Guangzhou buyer guide.
